Denis Law is a name that is synonymous with Manchester United. He is considered one of the best players to ever wear the Red Devils jersey, and his name is often mentioned in the same breath as George Best and Bobby Charlton. Nicknamed the "King of Old Trafford", Law achieved great success during his time at United winning almost every trophy he could.

Denis Law's Career

Denis Law was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on 24 February 1940. He began his football career with local side Huddersfield Town before moving to Manchester City in 1960 for just a season. He then went on to Torino for another season before being snatched by Manchester United.

Denis Law's career at Manchester United is one of the most decorated in the club's history. He joined United in 1962 and went on to make 404 appearances for the club, scoring 237 goals. In that time he won the First Division title twice, the FA Cup three times and the European Cup once. He also helped United to their first-ever League and Cup double in 1965/66.

Despite all his success at United, Law is probably best remembered for something that happened while he was playing for city rivals Manchester City. In the final game of the 1970/71 season, Law scored the goal that relegated United to the Second Division. It was a bittersweet moment for Law as he had helped his old club to the title, but at the same time relegated his current club.

But, despite all that, Denis Law will always be remembered as one of the greatest players to ever wear the Manchester United shirt. His name is etched into the history of the club and he will always be remembered as one of the best players to ever play the game.

Denis Law also had a very successful career with the Scotland national team. He made 55 appearances for his country and scored 30 goals. He represented Scotland at the 1974 World Cup which turned out to be his last appearance for his national side.

Denis Law's playing style

Law attributes were that of a classic striker. He was strong, powerful and had an eye for goal. He was also a very skilful player and was known for his dribbling ability. He was also a very physical player and was not afraid to put in a hard tackle.
