Rivaldo is one of the most iconic Brazilian footballers in history. He was a maestro on the field, able to control the game and make things happen with his deft touch and vision. He was known for his amazing dribbling skills, as well as his deadly accurate shots. Rivaldo was a true genius of the game who won almost every trophy he could, making him one of the most successful midfielders of all time.

Rivaldo's Career

Rivaldo Vítor Borba Ferreira started his career playing for Brazilian club, Santa Cruz. In 1993, he was signed on loan by Brazilian giants Corinthians. He then moved on to Palmeiras where he won the Brazilian Serie A in 1994. Rivaldo's performances attracted the attention of European clubs and he soon moved to Spain to play for Barcelona. Rivaldo scored 130 in 236 appearances for the Blaugranas. He quickly became a key player for the Catalan club, helping them win two La Liga titles and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. After five years at Barcelona, Rivaldo moved to the Italian side AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title and the Champions League in his only season with the club.

RIvaldo then went on to spend some time in Greece with Olympiacos and AEK Athens. He won the Super League Greece with Olympiacos on three successive occasions. He then transferred to Uzbek club Bunyodkor winning three consecutive first league titles over there too. Rivaldo eventually returned to Brazil where he retired with Mogi Mirim.

Rivaldo's career with Brazil is just as impressive as his club career scoring 35 goals in 74 appearances. He represented his country in three World Cups, winning the tournament in 2002. He also won the Copa America title and a Confederations Cup with Brazil. Rivaldo is one of only four players to have won the FIFA World Player of the Year award three times, and he is also a member of the FIFA 100, a list of the greatest living footballers compiled by Pelé.
